  • The Refresher program is a roughly 1-hour course that includes 3 practical interactive exercises focused on key course concepts previously learned.

The refresher course is recommended 6 months after completion of the 8-hour training. Since retention of knowledge decays over time, the refresher training keeps folks retaining and actively practicing what they learned.

Refresher training can be purchased on its own, but it is included as a bonus when purchasing the 4 or 8-hour training.

  • Yes, progress will be saved by module. We recommend fully completing modules, exercises, and exams that are interactive before exiting, as they will save but it is often not perfect.

  • Learners are provided with takeaway guides and documents that can be printed or downloaded. Printable activities, like the BBI, that can be used at work will also be provided. We recommend downloading or printing them for use during the class.

  • No, we don’t recommend it. For proper integration and understanding of the material, we suggest moving at a slower pace.

Our 1-hour Situational Awareness for Safety Training could be completed in 1-2 sittings. For the intensive Threat Observation and Threat Awareness Training, we recommend 1-2 hour long sessions over the course of a week or two.

  • Our training is derived from a multi-year, multi-million-dollar Department of Defense research project, conducted by the Naval Research Laboratory called Just Doesn’t Look Right.

We offer research-based training, developed from the knowledge of military, law enforcement, and high-level security professionals from across the globe.

This training has been taught to thousands of law enforcement, military, and security professionals nationally and internationally since 2015.

  • Safety and security specialists are often referred to as trained observers, but we have found that the vast majority of these specialists have never taken a formal observation course.

Our training teaches a starting point for civilians, law enforcement, military, and security professionals to learn situational awareness, how to establish a baseline of behavior, and how to use a baseline to become a better observer.

Our courses help learners identify specific behavioral indicators of a potential or imminent threat, teaching a standardized observation process.

  • We teach formalized strategies that have successfully been used by law enforcement and security professionals globally. These techniques were created as best practices to help keep people safe, increase their confidence by building situational awareness, and deepen the understanding of law enforcement and security professionals.

Our training has been proven to help practitioners be more observant of deviations in behavior and characteristics of potential threats.
